Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot including angels, fiends, and malevolent powers expanding in strength within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to begin their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might seem unsuited, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team understands precisely where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—used the enemy for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and fled to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires retribution.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as key figures in House Halovar could help the team access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The cleric turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.
What’s Next?
According to episode three’s follow-up content, we discover that the Soldiers table won’t be around next week, leaving the rest of the players to assemble the Questers and Strategists tables.
Fans can expect learning which characters will be assigned to which table in the season’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on October 24.
