Intensive Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and encountered disruption to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.

At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a different assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has intensified assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but strong steps - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and implementing sanctions," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were striving to restore power.

A barrage of missiles hit electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, according to local officials.

Local officials said the city experienced heavy assaults throughout the evening. A young boy was killed and three other people were injured.

The assaults follow evenings of air raids in the territory, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to detect.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the national power system, with attacks already affecting fuel infrastructure.

He said utility staff and government agencies were preparing for additional strikes.
