I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two-time world title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the novice continues to be one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually going ahead.
